The founder

Built by a woman who taught herself to rise and fall forward, never backwards.

Rise & Fore is a UK wellbeing community for women and children, founded and run by Rachel Farrant from the Essex region of England. Rachel has more than 15 years in HR, talent and career coaching and is trained in positive psychology, neuroscience and sound healing.

The name

Rise. Fore. And the dot.

Rise. To emerge, to heal, to begin again.

Fore. Forward momentum, rise ahead, thrive. Fore also means ahead, to the front. To bring something to the fore is to move it from the background into plain sight, which is most of what happens here.

The dot. The full stop at the end of the wordmark is not a full stop. It is a starting point.

Golf as a life tool

A sport that teaches resilience

Golf entered Rachel's life after a period of personal transition. What began as a hobby became a discipline, teaching focus, resilience and the courage to enter spaces that were not designed for you.

Anyone who has walked onto a course as the only woman in the group knows exactly what that means. You are visible before you have done anything. You are being assessed on the first tee. And the only way through it is to hit the ball anyway.

Rise & Fore uses sport as a developmental tool for women and children, breaking barriers, building confidence and proving that the challenge is the point. Events cover a range of sports and activities, not only golf.

You have to play the ball where it lies. But you can certainly decide what shot to take next, and that can change the game.

The mission

The antidote

In a world growing more isolated and noisy, Rise & Fore is the antidote. A space that quietens the outside noise and provides a safe, supported environment for women to rise and children to bloom.

The women who arrive here have usually tried the apps, the books and the podcasts. What they have not had is a room of women who genuinely show up for them. Their children get a room of their own too, through Little Bloomers, because a child who is heard early does not have to spend their thirties learning how to be.

Rachel designs every Rise & Fore experience from the inside out, from what is in the room to what you eat in it. She is the reason people travel across the country to be there.

Rachel has a unique gift of seeing what most others cannot. Her ability to connect with and understand someone is delicate, but her passion to build and create is relentless. She will help you find your purpose and light the spark you thought you lost.

The contract

Rise, and pay it forward

Membership is built on one contract, and it is not a legal one. You rise, and then you pay it forward. Not because you have to. Because once a room has held you, you want to hold it open for the next woman.

In practice that is Rise & Give: funded places for women in transitional housing support and for children who cannot afford extracurricular activities. Members contribute simply by being members. Requesting a place takes one short form, with no means testing and no panel, because a gift that costs someone their dignity is not a gift.
